An Interview With Sir Kat
Where Are You From?
Orlando FL
What was it like growing up for you?
I grew up with my mom and dad in the house with my little brother, on the east side of Orlando. It taught me a lot about cultures and who I wanna be as a man. We ain’t grow up rich, but we ain’t grow up poor. I had everything I needed to be successful and still strive for more than what is in front of me.
How Did You Get Into Music?
I always had a love for it. From sitting in the back of my dad’s Cadillac. He played all genres which founded his love for music. I used to make funny bars and freestyle over instrumentals to make friends and peers laugh when I was like 15. Then during quarantine, all I did was write raps and freestyle for hours at a time. I went to the booth and two years later here we are.
How Do You Go About Making Your Music?
Depends on what I am trying to do. I usually freestyle my songs. If not, I will probably write a hook or see if I have one in my notes. Then from there I just get into it.
Are There Any Artists You Look Up To (If So Why And Who)
I look up to Tyler the creator for his creativity and willingness to chase his dreams, that takes balls. I also look up to Jaden Smith, and Kanye. Along with Michael Jackson, Juice Wrld, XXX, Kodak, N.E.R.D, Future, Uzi, Pierce the Veil, Black Eye Peas, and Kid Cudi Just to name a few. All of these greats paved a way or a new lane for artists to flourish in.
What Do You Want Your Fans To Get From Your Music?
I want to be a message of hope, and understanding of who they are as a person. I want my music to motivate people to be better and relate to those people who are not into violence but love to have a good time. Life is too short, the words and affirmations you get from my music are hoped to be ones to push positivity and guidance under the listeners.
If You Could Perform anywhere Where Would It Be?
Rolling Loud, MSG, and Summer Smash
What Are Some Goals You Have For 2023?
Keep building a fan base, and more features, and keep moving Forward!
What Is The Hardest Thing About Making Music?
I feel like the hardest part about making music is being genuine and getting people to believe it. I always try so hard not to make the same song twice, so I often go on breaks without recording.
What Is Something You Wish You Could Change In Music Right Now?
The messages we get from it right now and the creativity behind it. I feel people are so scared to go against the grain and be different. But that was what hip hop comes from, Originality with a message.
Where Do You Want To Be In 10 Years?
A groundbreaking artist, actor, and fashion designer, who taught everyone to bet on themselves and take that leap of change.
What Is Your end Goal In Music?
I just want people to know they aren’t alone. We go through enough hate and evil in today’s world. My music is a break from that and proof to follow your dreams!
