Brooklyn Rapper Lil Ty Capitalizes On His Buzz With “Balenciaga”

For much of the last two years, Brooklyn has pioneered the New York Drill scene with rappers like the late Pop Smoke, Sheff G, Fivio Foreign, Ether Da Connect and 22Gz.
However, as amazing as these artist are, Lil Ty’s “Balenciaga” offers a breath of fresh air with melodic flows over a piano heavy beat.
What Ty does have in common with his drill counterparts, however, is a difficult upbringing. The rapper was shot in the stomach at 15 and details growing up in a cramped apartment without the basic necessities.
Instead of letting these events define him, Ty has quickly gained a serious buzz in New York as well as Arizona, where he currently lives. Within the span of under a year, Ty’s songs have accumulated nearly 700,000 streams on Spotify alone and another 130,000+ views for his tracks on Youtube.
