199X Drops Long-Awaited Project ‘Kandyland’
199X is making waves this 2021! The independent, LA-based artist just dropped his first project of 2021, called Kandyland and it’s exactly what audiences have been anticipating from him. Each song on the 4-track project is special in it’s own way and speaks volumes to the creative talent that 199X has.
The first song on his EP, “Gone,” is a standout in particular since it’s a fun party anthem with a unique beat that makes you want to dance. 199X used the momentum from the pandemic to create the new EP, which shows just how high-energy he’s capable of being. The name of the EP was inspired by his experiences of an exclusive series of parties called Kandyland in LA.
“COVID shut down all the clubs and strip clubs in LA — so it’s hard to party out here with these fines and shit, but my guys (not going to mention their name), they throw these private super exclusive parties,” he explained. “Strippers, rappers, actors … like its pretty much the strip club, but inside this multi-million dollar mansion.”
The rest of the project is versatile and shows off 199X’s skills as a rapper. Fans will definitely be looking forward to what’s next from him.
“What makes Kandyland so dope this is that like it’s super hard to get into a lot of people don’t know it even exists, but the energy is crazy cause everybody in there with only one intent — which is to go crazy! The first time I went I probably saw like $100,000 or more in 1’s get thrown that night left that bih’ and hit the studio and rode that energy. I think it was perfect because my last project was called the Eat Pray Numb and it had a more chill vibe, I wanted to do something more up I was in rockstar mode when I was making this EP and I produced it all besides this record my brother/engineer Arejeigh brought to the hotel. Beat was soo hard I cut the record at the hotel and the rest is history!”
