AI NES Shows Off His Unique Versatility in New Project

AI NES makes New Orleans, Mellow Hype Bass music. Seems fitting for an artist with a background of New Orleans and Houston culture. His sound can be described as “mellow but also gritty, wavy, and jiggy. A refreshing sound that feels authentic yet still familiar. Versatile flows but still in a specific and unique range. And provocative yet elegant.” AI NES has been surrounded with music his entire life. In his earliest beginnings in New Orleans, he was exposed to a melting pot of music and cultures. From Jazz to Brass bands, to symphony orchestra music, AI NES was constantly introduced to new sounds and sonics that would later help shape him into the artist he is today.

Having played violin in the orchestra for 4 years when he was growing up, AI NES became familiar with rhythmic patterns and reading music. Some of his early music influences include Michael Franks, Sade, OutKast, and Lil Wayne. This would later lay the foundation for his musical personality.

“I’m from Uptown New Orleans, Louisiana. I’ve lived all over New Orleans. I have been back and forth from Houston and New Orleans for a while. I was exposed to the Houston music scene early on because I relocated to Houston after Katrina when I was 8 but moved back to New Orleans at 12 and grew up in New Orleans. I left to Houston at 20 years old and have been back and forth ever since” says AI NES. All of his experiences with music and culture would soon collide.

AI NES is here with us today to drop off his latest offering. “She Says She Love NES” is a 5-song Ep that blends elements of Rap and R&B. It’s a smooth and melodic sonic experience but we’re also shown NES’s gritty raps throughout the tape. This speaks to NES’s ability to remain versatile with every project he releases, keeping the listener engaged every step of the way. Standout tracks for me were ‘Rush’ and ‘Stunna Blunts 2.’

It’s a project for everyone. His lyrical content of relationships, dreams and aspirations, and money is relatable on every level. “Music is my life and it is the universal language that connects us all,” says NES. This is why he continues to create art.
