RIPXL’s ‘Atlanta Is Burning’ Album Is a Must-Listen
Atlanta native RIPXL is back on the Loading Mag pages with another full LP, Atlanta is Burning. The album kicks off with “BURN,” which features a sample of a news anchor reporting on just a few of the countless violent murders that have taken place this year in Atlanta. The rapper explores a variety of styles across the tracklist, keeping but wears a heavy R&B influence on his sleeve. The track “Intentions” features Bludwork’s R&B vocals delivering a soulful verse over a laid-back, swung beat. On “Find Love,” RIPXL reminisces over another R&B beat, and even breaks out into his singing voice the slick hook “sometimes you gotta hug the block.”
Earlier this year, RIPXL secured a co-sign from Atlanta beatmaker icon Danny Wolf. The 25 year old producer described RIPXL being next up out of Atlanta, which stirred up some additional hype around the release of Atlanta is Burning. RIPXL is leading a new class of Atlanta artists in 2023 and is definitely one to keep an eye out for.
