NOKAMI Drops Banger After Banger
South Carolina rapper NOKAMI is not your average rapper. His skill set stretches beyond just rapping and singing. NOKAMI produces and engineers most of his own his own music as well. His discography features trippy trap bangers, and atmospheric emo rap. His song BAD DESIGN is a moody break-up anthem. His singing on the track pairs well with the quiet piano playing in the background. The lyrics are much more personal than the average run of the mill emo rap song. His song HOW WE BALL features a rumbling bass line with loud drums. KAMI spits bars flexing on his opps. Changing flows from one creative melody to the next. Recently I got the chance to ask NOKAMI about his upcoming EP “So my next project has been a constantly evolving process, but it’s meant to be a transition from my last project to my debut album Planet Kami. Currently it’s split into two eps, the first of which is 7 songs with me producing 5 of the songs. It has a very cinematic/spacey tone, and is my most ambitious project yet. I wanted it to feel like a celebration of all the work I’ve put into my sound over the past couple of years. So you’ll get a lot of different sub-genres in this first ep. I’ve got big features for both, one I can reveal for the first ep is Highway2009. I love albums that immerse you into the artist’s aesthetic, and have lots of small detail that keep you interested on each play through, so that’s was my goal with this one.”
