Willy P Teams Up with Viral Producer Peter Kuli to Develop a Completely New Sound on “NO CEILING”

When I first discovered Willy P, I felt this overwhelming sense of relief. It’s been a long time since an artist has made me feel this way. The only feeling I could compare listening to his new song with Peter Kuli “NO CEILING” (ft. Buppy) would be that first hit of weed in the morning, or how it feels cracking a beer on a night out with your people. I’ve been chasing this feeling ever since Mac Miller tragically passed away. Keep in mind, we at Loading are huge fans of Mac so we do not take that comparison lightly. His EP “Moonchild” just gives me the same feeling of when I heard K.I.D.S. for the first time. On his new projects, he also has a similar flow to Rex Orange County who I think is one of the most underrated and talented musicians of our era. When asked about his genre and what separates him from everybody else he stated “I think there’s a lane for everyone. I feel like I’m making my own spot.” I agree that it’s hard to put him in a specific genre, due to his completely original approach to making music.

I got to FaceTime Willy P and his friend/collaborator Peter Kuli and get to know them as artists and as people. We got to talk about how as artists, it’s important to stay true to yourself and to be able to portray how you feel in your music. What’s great about these two is that they are so genuine and humble. They both portray vulnerability, honesty, passion, and a serious drive to make a difference in our world. When asked about what kind of a change he would like to see in the world, Willy P disclosed his love for nature and how he wants to use his platform to start a conversation about the current state of the world we live in, and how it’s necessary to take care of our environment. He said, “It’s an all-encompassing issue that affects everybody.” True.

Peter Kuli is a musical genius in the making. Coming out of Massachusetts, we got to speak on how it’s difficult to network with musicians from Boston. From a young age, he would create music and pop out to events but found it hard to connect with the local talent. Luckily, we have the internet and he has found some outstanding talent to work with such as Willy P. Peter Kuli has already made a huge difference in Willy P’s sound and the team at Loading is hella excited for them to keep collaborating as a team for future projects. Speaking of the Internet, he went viral on Tik Tok for his song “OK BOOMER” with Jedwill. The song has over 12 Million Streams on Youtube. Don’t let the viral sensation fool you, as a producer/ engineer he takes his craft seriously, and his true talent shows on projects like “NO CEILING” & his EP “Lust.” When asked about what it’s like working with Peter Kuli, he said “… it’s completely surreal, I truly believe Peter is going to win multiple Grammys.

The visual for “NO CEILINGS” is a very unique video that captured footage from an intimate live performance at the iconic “Bowery Electric” in New York, NY. The video shot by Theo Labrusciano-Carris also includes an animation by Durnis Markov.

Last thing before I go, I’d like to challenge the audience to get to know Willy P & Peter Kuli. I’d like to share a line from “No Ceilings” that gives you a good idea of who Willy P is as an artist and person.

“I just live my truth, Don’t got shit to prove, I love it when life feels this easy.”
