Kyn is quickly making his way to the forefront of the music scene in the city of Detroit.
Though he has been active since as early as 2010, Kyn elevated to a new tier in 2021 when he collaborated with MOB rapper Babyface Ray on their radio-ready hit “Keep In Touch.”
During an exclusive conversation with Loading Magazine, Kyn gave a play-by-play of how his “Keep In Touch” collaboration arrived while also providing a small glimpse of what is to come.
Kyn started off by remarking on his first major collaboration with “2 Million Up” rapper Peezy in 2011.
“The first song and music video I ever dropped featured Peezy Called ‘All Night Long’ prod by @Lil Ron beats back in 2011,” he said. “I was in 10th grade and was in a group back then, we was just a click full of smooth get money hustlers.”
Fast forward to 2021, Kyn explains how he joined forces with Babyface Ray in Las Vegas to bring his visual single to life.
“We shot the music video for ‘Keep In Touch’ in Las Vegas, Kardiak films directed it,” he said in part. “Before the music video me Face, and Stew already knew it was going to be a banger. Honestly, it was so much going on the first night we landed in Vegas. We had to shoot Face scene the next day at the Aria Hotel in Las Vegas still After that I flew back to the city dropped the song on all platforms song and overnight this song had the city lit.”
Following his collaboration with Babyface Ray, Kyn hit the road and began doing shows across the states, in addition to building onto his craft in Atlanta — where he began working as a songwriter.
“Prior too ‘Keep In Touch’ I was down in Atlanta working with and songwriting for some of ATLs hottest artists,” Kyn said. “I learned a lot of music industry sauce that I then brought back to Michigan with me and applied to my own brand. Asar, Smerf, and Killz are the only engineers that I trust with my sound so far. When it comes to production, I like to co-produce most of the beats I record on. That way I already like the vibe and feel of the song. Some of my producers that I rock with are TraviRay, Chill, Leww, K Money, Josh, Lee Chop, Crowe.”
Now, Kyn has identified a formula he is putting to use in the new music he is working on, which he believes will keep him popular with both men and women.
“I say what women want to hear and I say what men wish they did to women,” Kyn said. “I make my music for around 2:40am typically after a night of partying with fake people that 2:40 am drive gets real.”
