Kato On The Track and B.o.B are attempting to level the playing field for artists via their new social media challenge.

At the top of January Kato revealed he and B.o.B would be teaming up with events and contest platform Audius for an exclusive worldwide contest designed to connect them with an enterprising indie artist for the collaborative opportunity of a lifetime. The Over Night Success Story “ONSS” challenge is designed to entice artists from all corners of social media to take a chance at crafting their own viral hit over one of Kato’s masterful productions. The fateful winner of the contest will get the opportunity to travel, all expenses paid, to Atlanta to collaborate with Kato and B.o.B, create content and more.

Given the fact that Kato is known for his social media challenges, ONSS felt like a natural move. However, he recently explained to Loading Magazine that it’s more than just a challenge for him.

“I didn’t get opportunities like this early on in my career. Social media was barely a thing. I know it won’t turn someone into an “overnight success” but that’s not the point. You put in hundreds of hours of unseen work and to have one moment where someone recognizes you for it means a lot. I know that feeling. I’m always excited to give my community that shot,” Kato said.

Kato went on to add that working with B.o.B for the ONSS is gratifying in its own right due to how much the Atlanta rapper’s career personifies the overall message of the challenge as a source of motivation.

“Bob and I have always had a dope relationship. I have a ton of respect for what he’s accomplished that so few have been able to do, but more so just as a human being. I mean, this dude is all-world and any artist would kill for a portion of what he has achieved. So to have him not only as a sounding board but a friend… that has meant everything to me,” Kato said.
