Winnipeg-based indie band Neighbour Andy has just released their new 5-track EP, titled “Neighbour Andy.” This EP is a departure from their previous sound, delving into a new realm of rock music that is reminiscent of the old-school style of the genre. I’ve lived in Winnipeg my whole life and was absolutely blown away when my friend Garrett LeBlanc put me onto them during one of our crazy weekends. Yes, I was absolutely blasted and borderline unconscious, but looking back to that night, it made everything even better.

One of the standout tracks on the EP is the single, “71” This song immediately grabs the listener with its driving beat and catchy guitar riffs. The song’s lyrics explore the theme of nostalgia, with the band singing about looking back on the past and trying to hold onto the memories that have shaped who they are.

In addition to the single track, the EP also features three other songs that showcase the band’s versatility and range. “When You Need It” is a slower, more introspective track that showcases the band’s ability to craft emotive ballads. “Far From The Ocean” is a high-energy rocker with a driving beat and catchy chorus, while “Car Park” is a more experimental track that explores a moodier, atmospheric sound with a hint of Funk.

Overall, “Neighbour Andy” is a highly enjoyable EP that showcases the band’s growth as musicians in a town that has been missing something like this for years. Their new sound is a fresh take on rock music, and is sure to appeal to fans of the genre. With its nostalgically tinged lyrics and old-school feel, this EP is a must-listen for anyone who loves rock music. I’ll attach links to their socials below, and the link to their project, thanks for reading!
