Dee Smiff’s Newest Single ‘time back!’ is Relatable on Every Level

Dee Smiff is a 24-year-old rising artist out of Knoxville, Tennessee. Starting his musical journey singing in the church choir as a child, Smiff started to form a deep love with the different aspects of music: poetry, storytelling, freedom, expression, and most importantly, the ability to bring forth emotion through understanding and resonating with the people. Understanding that being an artist in 2022 has no limits, Smiff set out to learn how to produce beats for himself, wanting to further explore his creative abilities.

It’s no secret that if an artist craves success in this music industry they must first make great music, but at the same time, brand themselves through storytelling and creating an aesthetic that matches their personality or an artist they’re inspired by. Smiff understands how important and instrumental branding can be, that’s why he’s decided to tell his story of perseverance and living life to its fullest potential. He wants to spread a message that encourages people to be different, true, and unique without the fear of being judged. Most of Smiff’s inspirations stem from movies and anime, all requiring a constant theme throughout its storytelling. Smiff has taken this same concept and applied it to his music career; he aims to inspire people to not only create meaningful bodies of work that speak to the soul but inspire others along the way to create their best art as well.

On his mission to inspire, Dee Smiff is back with a new song called ‘time back,’ produced by the legend 8een, detailing his want and need for “getting his time back” from life experiences we can all relate to: failed relationships and friendships, too much consumption of media, periods of breaks taken when feeling discouraged from chasing our dreams. It’s a song for all of us.

Stream ‘time back!’ available now across all platforms.
