Maj3sty Talks Relationships & Dating CEO Of Vegan Sweet’s & Treat’s

What does Maj3sty have in common with Kendrick Lamar, Tobe Nwigwe, and D Smoke? It’s more than his hustle, grind, and quest for positive self expression through artistic stories. Much like these musicians, Maj3sty is committed to his relationship and isn’t afraid to show his commitment.

Intrigued by his lyrics and willingness to show his partner in his music videos, as well as creating songs about her, we wanted to ask Maj3sty one question. What does dating and relationships mean to you? Here’s his answer:

“For me dating isn’t necessary. Society has you believing that because you’re young, it’s okay to date around and have sex with someone you claim to like because that’s what being young is about. That’s wrong. I’ve made enough mistakes to understand that there’s no such thing as dating, not for me.

When I tried to get into relationships in the past, I thought I was healed enough within my soul’s journey to take on another soul and walk with them on my path, I was wrong. I got hurt, they got hurt, they hurt me, I hurt them, and we both left the situation with a toxic view of each other.

In my heart that’s a tragedy because people don’t understand that you and another person met because you saw something there… now for whatever reason those two people stop being on the same page and things become toxic, but I’ve learned to look at things from an agape standpoint. Just because someone hurt me doesn’t mean I stop loving them, it means I forgive them and overstand that we both weren’t healed enough to take on another soul during our journey.

One of my problems was that I didn’t know how to let go. A lot of women would get into things with me and at some point, they would switch up quickly with no conversation as to why. Because of some injuries that I sustained it often takes me a while to process and understand situations. I’ve learned over the years that I’m able to handle things better when a person is willing to sit down and tell me why they have to walk away or why they choose to stay. Texting, subliminals, and phone calls don’t help me. But I understand that in certain moments, people act for themselves. I’m guilty of that too.

In 2019 I met an amazing young woman and we were attending the same university at the time. My health was to the point that I was having seizures and one evening she spent the night. As we laid in the bed beside each other I felt the seizure coming and felt as if the room was becoming distorted. I tried my best to get up and go into the bathroom, my goal was to hide it.

Somehow I wasn’t able to walk and had no choice but to lay on the bed and allow for it to happen. What happened next was a moment I’ll never forget. She held me and asked what she

could do, I started crying and told her to roll me over on my side. In that moment, I felt a sense of peace and comfort. In one moment I finally had one woman do the very thing that I’ve been asking the wrong women for. She held me and was there for me when I needed her the most.

This woman has taken my anger, sadness, isolation, looks, and gave me time to find my walk as a man… as a Son of God. She has embraced my imperfections, my shortcomings, flaws, and encourages me to love myself and forgive myself. She shows up for me and goes to God. She prays for me. I’ve never had that. I never knew that existed.

I allowed other women to turn me into something I’m not and in the process I’m sure they’ve spread rumors and painted me out to be a toxic person. But The Father sent someone to me and me to someone at a divine time, right before Covid-19 changed the world. I found a reason to not date. I found a reason to tell a woman that I want to be celibate. I found a reason to be a better man. My reason is God, The Father. It’s Abba. Abba is my reason for doing better, being better, and seeing better. He blessed me and gave me a gift on my journey, it’s my responsibility to respect and honor that.

A relationship to me is more than commitment. A relationship is honor, respect, divine, Ordained by God, agape, love, forgiveness, joy, peace, gentleness, the spirit of fear at times, grace, mercy, passion, compassion and so much more. A relationship is meant to be The Father’s gift to his child, what that child does with that relationship is that child’s gift back to The Father.”
