Dzh drops new EP “Before I Overthink”
Dzh has failed to miss with projects. From his 2019 release “Under This Hoodie”, to the 2022 album “Dante’s Inferno”, and now his latest EP “Before I Overthink”: Dzh and projects are a match made in heaven.
“Before I Overthink” sees Dzh display his artistry and creativity in just 5 tracks. Surprisingly enough, none of these songs were recorded this year and were all recorded between 2020 and 2023. It also serves as a holdover project till the release of his highly anticipated “Devil May Cry” album. The EP title, as the name implies, sees Dante try to get out of his own head by releasing tracks he earlier recorded which he felt weren’t good enough for release initially.
The 5- track EP comes with a different vibe on each song. The “Words of Affirmations” interlude sees Dzh assure his lover about the affection he has for her, while discussing how perfect she is to him. “Tha Intro” which was recorded in 2023 sees a more introspective Dzh. On personal favorite “Genie”, a more braggadocios Dzh emerges over a West Coast beat. Dzh manages to encapsulate various vibes and emotions in just 5 tracks.
