$not & ThouxanBanFauni – “FEAR” [Stream]
Soundcloud has seen the rise of many acts that have elevated to the mainstream level of hip-hop and music in general such as Playboi Carti, Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Yachty, and the late XXXTENTACION. Some people may feel as if the platform has been largely abandoned and left in the last decade but there are some great artists who continue to use the platform to grow massive fanbases and aren’t necessarily chasing mainstream success.
Lake Worth, Florida’s $not and Atlanta, Georgia’s ThouxanBanFauni drop off an unexpected but certainly welcome melodic banger with “FEAR”. The glimmering instrumental produced by Why Zoo is the perfect set up for the two soundcloud giants to lay their unique vocals on. The track shows the two emcees doing what they do best and we can only hope they drop more music together. This one is going to be on repeat for a while and is one of my favorite tracks of the year.
