The Chosin Few Fire-Off Debut “Triple Threat” EP

Earlier this month Los Angeles-based rap trio The Chosin Few delivered the video for their single “Me’krum” and have now followed through with their Triple Theat EP.

With production handled by official Shoreline Mafia DJ & budding super-producer Cypress Moreno, the Triple Threat is a fierce coming-out party for the South L.A. El Salvadorian rappers. Across five tracks, 22-year-old Evxga, 23-year-old Statue, and 27-year-old Mars the Martian, who is Evxga’s older brother, exert their lyrical will power via a flurry of tenacious and versatile flows.

From the drop of the first track, a West Coast-centric bop titled “Cutthroat” the Chosin Few are in attack mode. You can tell that they have something to prove by the way they shred each track as it it were their last. The sound profile of the project falls somewhere between a coastal regional soundscape pocket and elevated lyrical reality rap.

The group recently discussed the process of recording the EP, working with Cypress Moreno and more in their latest Instagram Live interview with HipHopBasement.
