In The Head of YGTUT
The Heads of The House
Familiar name right? YGTUT? The Preacher’s Son. Also probably one of the greatest musicians to bless your AirPods. I was young when TUT started gaining noticeable traction in the music world. Since I am from Chattanooga, watching TUT get the flowers he deserves in real time is nothing less than amazing. Before I get in to his new project, I want to give some background information for any new fans.
Kevin Adams Jr. grew up in a Baptist household with his father being a preacher and his mother a gospel singer. This best explains his love and talent for songwriting. Around 2010/2011 TUT enrolled in Middle Tennessee State University where he met popular Top Dawg Entertainment artist, “Isaiah Rashad.” This is where the two would start their journey on becoming the most influential collective to shed light on Chattanooga. “The House”, includes a number of talented producers, singers, songwriters and all around CEO’s such as; Shoey Russell, Michael Da Vinci, Chris P, TUT & Rashad. Earlier this year they actually released a collective album titled, “The Set.” Which by the way is a no skip tape.
Timeless
That word, timeless, it’s hard to place that description on music now. Especially in a time where it seems everyone is here only for the moment. YGTUT has proven time and time again that real music still exists. It has been a few weeks since his album, “In My Head” has dropped and I feel I have had the time to take in every aspect of this album and form my own opinions regarding this masterpiece. At 18 tracks, it is almost possible to call this project a playlist in itself. The way TUT is able to release such a vast album while keeping your attention with every song is rather impressive. Also his religious background never fails to express itself in his music. From the melodies to the motivational lyrics, this album is the perfect summer vibe project.
In The Now
I always resonate with the uplifting auras in the music world, and I personally see and feel nothing but good energy TUT’s way. The Unspoken Truth himself has a catalogue unlike any artist to come out of our beautiful hometown Chattanooga and I am excited to see what else is to come from The House. Get out of your head and lose yourself in TUT’s below!
