Who Doesn’t Love Snow Days

Recently I discovered this up-coming artist going by the name of LAIVY. Based out of New York and only being 17-years-old, LAIVY is already making himself noticed in the music scene. While scrolling through his Spotify page I discovered he is the son of Reggae Hip-Hop legend, and Grammy nominated artist Matisyahu. If you don’t know the song “King Without A Crown” definitely go check that out after you peep LAIVY’s catalog. After learning this I was even more excited to hear LAIVY’s music. Clearly music is in his blood and he has grown up around it his entire life. However, he didn’t follow in his father’s footsteps, deciding to gear his music into a more pop direction rather than reggae. I would described LAIVY’s current sound as being similar to artists such as Justin Bieber and Bazzi. Don’t get me wrong though LAIVY can definitely stand on his own two, showcasing his undeniable talents on his newest release “Snow Days”. A reminiscent freedom song for the winter season, LAIVY is checking off all the right boxes with this one. The songwriting is top notch especially at such a young age, I’m already super impressed with LAIVY. I have to note his use of melodies over top of the guitar on this cut had me absolutely memorized. I can’t wait for more music from LAIVY, and it’s safe to say he gain a new fan. Be sure to check out “Snow Days” linked below.
