In music, you never know where the “next big artist” with raw talent and the drive to accomplish the unknown will emerge. Richmond, VA is home to Rodrick Tann, an artist with the vision to become the biggest entertainer the world has ever seen. The young visionary dropped ‘Creep’N’ featuring TroyTheRapper, which has been generating buzz on SoundCloud for just over a month. The Yung Tago produced track starts with Tann rapping, then simultaneously jumps back and fourth with TroyTheRapper for the remainder of the song.
The video is directed by Spencer Sease and starts with two men carrying another man, then proceed to duct tape him to a chair. We seem to catch a glimpse into the everyday life of both Tann and Troy as their lyrics let us know what happens if anyone attempts to cross them.
In an interview with Loading Mag, Tann claims he wants his “city to be the next to lookout for in music!” He goes on to say “I want my city to learn that no matter what happens to you in life, keep striving, be great and have faith. I want to bring all talented individuals together to become the next biggest platform in the industry.” With the likes of Chris Brown, Pharrell, Jason Mraz and more all being from VA, it makes sense why he feels his sound is an intricate mix between both introspective Hip-Hop and melodic R&B. Rodrick reveals Zaytoven and Justin Bieber are two people he’s looking forward to working with most, given the opportunity. Bieber also happens to be the first album Rodrick ever owned.
Though he feels his sound isn’t out yet, Rodrick Tann is attacking 2020 with a hunger and an agenda to give the game what it’s been missing. Check out more of Rodrick Tann and TroyTheRapper on SoundCloud, Spotify, Apple Music and all other platforms.
