Who is KT Foreign? What does the name represent and where are you from?
KT Foreign is a leader, an artist, an entrepreneur. The name KT Foreign comes from my name and a mixture of the Quran, I just put my own twist on it with the spelling since my initial is a K and not a Q. My name is who I am, what I believe in. The Quran delivers a true message and its foreign because its different from other religious beliefs. For example I believe in not drinking, not smoking, no tattoos, no celebrating holidays or doing any drugs.
What is pimp rap? Talk to us about the meaning and culture
Pimp rap is what I call “Foot Hop” these days. It’s a little different now, it’s a little more smooth and more messages being put out instead of so much on a foot so hard. Which is a female. Thats what we call them now instead of using other words. But instead of going in on them so much its also some encouragement while also going in on “pimps” to for their misguided mistakes. It’s not just one sided, but overall it’s the message being sent out.
Who are some other pivotal rappers or names within the pimp rap culture? What separates you and your wave?
E40 ,Too Short ,Suga Free. My wave is different from there’s because it’s the new generation wave. It’s different from back when they started the wave. It’s been a lot of changes and different experiences.
You just dropped a new single with Lil Weirdo. Both of you are going up right now for California. Was it immediate synergy between the two of you?
Yea we actually both from the same city San Diego
Top 5 West Coast rappers of all time?
KT Foreign, E40, Mac Dre, Rip Drakeo, Rip Nipsey
We saw you were at the Call Of Duty headquarters just the other week. How was that? Can we expect to see KT Foreign in Call Of Duty?
It was a dope experience I’m not really a heavy COD gamer but every blue moon I might play. I’m more of a Madden type game if I was to game. Maybe you’ll see me in the game!
The West Coast seems to have a lot of beef between artists within the same city etc. Do you buy into any of that? How do you manage to deal with all of the drama?
I just focus on what’s important and the bag
