New Release Alert: RickDaRula’s “Grind Now Shine Later” is a Breath of Fresh Air
RickDaRula is an indie artist who’s worth keeping on your radar. His pen game is strong and his ear for production is on point, as proven in his latest release “Grind Now Shine Later.” This project brings back a fresh sound to the rap scene with its old school production, courtesy of producers Slick and JrBeatz.
It’s not just the beats that make this album stand out, though. RickDaRula’s intro track “Grind Now Shine Later” sets the tone for the project and by the second track he makes it clear he’s here to stay. Towards the middle of the album, we get some personal insights with a more upbeat cadence about RickDaRula’s roots and how the game has treated him. The features on this album come from $hooter, Poetic Taii, and a solo feature from Frvnkstvr on “30 for 30,” who adds some well placed vocals to round out the back half of the project.
In Track 6 “Hustler’s Prayer,” RickDaRula shows love to Kanye West with the line “Ain’t been to church but I’m diggin’ Kanye’s Sunday Service.” This just goes to show that RickDaRula is an artist who draws inspiration from a wide range of sources.
Overall, “Grind Now Shine Later” is a solid album with plenty of replay value. Hood Saviors will definitely be keeping their eyes on this up-and-coming artist. Keep a look out for more from RickDaRula with his social links below!
