reed. drops slick new visual for “Balmains”
The latest video from reed. for his song “Balmains” needs to be on your watchlist! The New Orleans born, Los Angeles based artist has incorporated some of his recent Hollywood experiences into a cohesive song and dropped a simplistic video to go along with it. “Balmains” was entirely written, produced, and performed by reed. himself, who has been making music for almost two decades.
“After spending some time living the stereotypical Hollywood life, [I realized] it’s time to get everything in order,” said reed. “I was meeting artists I never dreamed I could meet but I was partying way too hard.”
As for the video itself, reed. took a minimalistic approach, shooting most of the scenes in his living room, sitting on the floor; he is broaching the sticky subject of fake friends in a casual and lighthearted way, which makes for an easy listen and provides a nice juxtaposition to other songs with the same lyrical content. Sadly, fake friends are universal, but the way that one deals with fake friends may differ.
“[I had to] realize the difference between who my real friends were and the people who came around just because I had party supplies,” said reed.
For his next moves, reed. is planning the release of his next album The Lifestyle 3. New songs and visuals are confirmed to be on the way, but in the meantime we could only wonder what else he has up his sleeve for us.
