Polo Perks, a key member of New York City’s hottest underground rap collective SURF GANG has just shared the visuals for “Mr.Brightside (Tommytohotty)” in celebration of the one. year anniversary of his critically-acclaimed project PUNK GOES DRILL+. In March of last year, Polo Perks changed the landscape of underground hip-hop, and specifically the phenomenon of “sample drill” with PUNK GOES DRILL+. This project seamlessly blended a wide array of genres, from pop-punk to rock & roll and of course, drill, resulting in a tape entirely its own. In only 20 minutes, Polo reimagined iconic tracks like “Everlong” from The Foo Fighters, “Crave You” by Flight Facilities, and on “Mr.Brightside (Tommytohotty)”, he flips the seminal rock track by the same from The Killers into a modern marvel. The visuals show Polo by himself, wrapped in a regal velvet room spitting his hard-hitting raps over this standout instrumental. Polo centered himself in the transformative movement of “sample drill” that has spread wildly around the tri-state, and now he is looking to celebrate this seminal achievement with the release of the cinematic visuals for “Mr.Brightside (Tommytohotty)”.
