PEAK’s ‘8PM’: A Fresh and Emotive Twist on Trap Music

PEAK has been working overtime this year leading up to his highly anticipated debut EP. The musician found success through his 2022 releases, with a sound reminiscent of Toronto’s famous R&B underground scene. Peak subverted expectations on his first release of the year, the lowkey and minimalist “RE-UP”. Now, PEAK is back again with his dark and sensual new single “8PM”

With atmospheric bells and a gritty and haunting closing guitar riff, the song feels both eerie and warm at the same time. On “8PM”, Peak reverb-soaked vocals explore themes of love and intimacy against the backdrop of a dark city night. The song is complete with catchy vocal hooks and moody synths that have become so signature to PEAK’s sound.

“8PM”’s music video perfectly sets the scene for the track. Soaked in neon light, the visuals are just as intimate and atmospheric as the song itself. PEAK has cultivated a strong and consistent visual aesthetic, with every accompanying video complimenting each track perfectly.

This year, PEAK has no intention of slowing down. With his EP just around the corner, PEAK is undoubtedly one to watch.
