Midwest Native King Kap Releases His Engaging New Project, ‘Wave Radio’
Though it may not seem like a hotbed for entertainment talent on the surface, Indiana has long had a history of producing groundbreaking talent. From Pop Icons like Michael and Janet Jackson, to comedians like Mike Epps and even rappers like Freddie Gibbs and Richie Bux, Indiana has always been a force to be reckoned with. Another native name looking to come up the ranks is King Kap, who’s sheer consistency and pen have caused his name to ring bells in circles both locally and regionally. Looking to take it a step further, he checks into our pages with his engaging new project, Wave Radio.
Clocking in at 27-minutes, Wave Radio is a reflective body of work that sees Kap venting through his frustrations on some songs, while on others, he opts to turn up through it instead. Showcasing an sense of authenticity that has endeared him with his growing fanbase, he leaves no stone unturned as he actively highlights his versatility on songs like, “Smoked Out” “Come & Go,” and, “Tribute 2 All The Real.” Serving as one of the standout songs on the project, Kap and executive producer TyjuanOnTheBeat create a poignant tribute to a friend of Kap’s who tragically passed in a car accident. Through records like these and more uptempo ones like, “Kenny Lofton,” Wave Radio does a great job showcasing his growing arsenal, while simultaneously representing the juxtaposition of his feelings in a relatable way.
