$lyce’s “WETTiE (DELUXE)” is Meldoically Great
$lyce recently released his deluxe version of his album “WETTiE,” which is what any melodic artist should aim to put out! Overall, he likes to go for more spacey and ambient beats with a slower tempo. Considering the content, he usually speaks about — love, heartbreak, deep feelings, etc. — they quickly go hand in hand. He added nine songs to the original 12, which all conform to a tremendous melodic album.
$lyce is an artist that goes for Internet-Money-styled production and adds a hint of hyperpop in his vocal presence. Artists in that production lane tend to keep their voice autotuned, but not to the point where it’s noticeable. So instead, $lyce raises the pitch of his voice dramatically to create a great mesh between the mainstream and underground sounds.
For most of the nine songs, $lyce chose to use beats with slower tempos. The beats tended to have lower bass but were also lead-heavy. This counterbalance works in his favor. He clearly understands that his voice will usually be higher, so those leads don’t allow it to sound overpowering, and the bass equals out the polarized pitches. The balance in every song is evident and makes each song on the album’s deluxe version great.
Overall, this album is a good listen and can grow on a person after a few listens. Listen to $lyce’s “WETTiE (DELUXE)” below!
