King Spyro: The DMV Rap God with the fire bars!
Once every couple of years in the rap game there is a particular type of rapper that comes along that is able to flawlessly merge swagger, believability, and bars to create hit after hit. Artists like Jadakiss, Lil Wayne, or Lil Baby come to mind but now it’s time to add a new name to that list; The fire-spitting Red Dragon from the DMV, King Spyro!
Spyro has been on the independent music scene in the DMV since the age of 19 and has made quite a name for himself as someone who delivers insane rhymes and freestyles. His aggressive and punchline-heavy style coupled with his ‘cool hand luke’ delivery is a welcome throwback to the days of 2007-2010 Lil Wayne or Montana of 300’s rookie year.
Seeing King Spyro live is a very turnt up experience. His energy and presence make him seem 7 feet tall when performing. Every time he gets on stage whether it’s a big concert hall or a smaller intimate affair, he performs like he just sold out Madison Square Garden. This dedication to making quality music and putting on a great live show has allowed him to perform in some of the biggest and most prestigious venues in the DMV area.
King Spyro has a sizable list of great music to choose from to put in your playlist. “59 Demonz” is a nice Dmv take on New York drill music. Spyro’s affiliation is shown proudly on this track that features his friend and teammate 59beef.
“Sapori” ft. L.A. Bishop & Big Mechoo is a Detroit-inspired track with Spyro’s usual blend of crazy gun bars, aggression, and veteran levels of confidence in his delivery.
