Kenny Mason Wows Us With “Pup”

The ATL has always been a breeding ground for some of most profound rap acts to ever walk the planet.
Today’s Atlanta rap scene is split in three distinct categories; the trapstars turned pop stars lead by Migos, 21 Savage, and Lil Baby, Young Thug and his proteges (Gunna, Lil Keed, Lil Gotit, etc.) and the lyrical rappers who are lead by EARTHGANG and JID. Kenny Mason exists within all three of these groups.
Mason’s new track “Pup” effortlessly expands off of the unparalleled versatility displayed on his debut project “Angelic Hoodrat”.
The best example of this is the repetition of lines like “Shawty wanna rock from a n**** from the 3” and “40 got kick”, the 25-year-old reps his hood of Zone 3, warns everyone about what kind of artillery he has on deck, and does all of this over heavy metal guitar lines punctuated by eerie Playboy Carti-esk ringing.
As someone who heavily slept on Kenny and his talents, I would highly recommend you listen to this track.
