Jaqil: Ever since 10th grade got kicked off the football team for bad grades n went to summer school. That year I just started writing raps in the notes showed it to the kid next to me in summer school (He happened to be a producer as well at the time) said my lil notes was hard lol. So long story short we’d go on till we graduated making music together.

Jaqil: Moving to Charlotte from Greensboro NC a slow pace town, to a fast pace city ready for the transition my music couldn’t be fully accepted in that small town when I would do lil open mics my music differed so much from everyone else’s hard to catch a vibe, plus I make music for women n niggas who get bitches n money! The scene out in charlotte I think is perfect for those vibes so me n my new producers past two and a half years now (Raxks & Studda beats), what we’ve done in the time we’ve been linking on records making the best music we’ve ever made n getting better every day!! Crazy our work ethic every time we go inna studio lil Future n Metro Boomin! Thug n wheezy jus good vibes were on the same frequency!!

Q: How would you describe your sound?

Jaqil: Our sound is just wavy!! R&B mixed with Alternative Rap + Rock n’ Roll/Grunge & Shoegaze all in one! I listen to all kinds of music I can’t just listen or make just one genre too boring won’t last long that way have to listen to different kinds of music n try new things that we could use with our hip hop core you know. We came up on Wiz Khalifa, Young Thug, Future, Drake & Gucci! Uzi n Carti Ofc.. ? I fw a lot of rock music thou that’s what been inspiring me lately bands like Nothing, Movements, King Krule and Citizen.

Jaqil: The latest ep I dropped is part 2 of the first high enough over it! Slow but heavy 808 wavy ambient sounds like a baby Travis Scott lol, but just feel-good music man shit you can spark up to n get money to you know! Trying intricate flows like Thugger, Pluto, and JuiceWrld! My album will drop later this year! “New Dimension Inna Bare Galaxy” has lots of guitar cords, n good 808s that feel as good as Kid Cudi humming!!

Q: What is Bare Galaxy Entertainment?

Jaqil: My label Bare Galaxy Entertainment was a high school thing that few years after graduating. I was still dropping music (2016) so streaming was becoming big couldn’t just make Soundcloud joints no more you know, so I decided to fully build under my brand! Jaqil & BGE both trademarked all the paperwork right everything under Me! When my old music group got lazy I took it n ran with it!! Right now, it’s just me n my 2 producers (Raxks & Studda Beats) the way my guys use Fl studio you would think metro or wheezy had twins those would be my guys!! Work ethic on-point our sound n what all 3 of us bring to the table as a collective is so different the rest of the world hasn’t heard anything like our waves before! Energy is just uplifting and motivational at all times actually wanna better ourselves musically so we can get all our family’s inna better position financially for generations!!
