Hip-Hop Twins KENRON are Grinding Now To Shine Later
KENRON is a duo that consists of twin brothers, Ron Roze the outspoken and rugged twin, and Kino is the softer, more emotional one. The two convey completely distinct sounds and emotions in their music, reflecting the difference in their personalities. During an interview, the twins said they “represent the hard times” and “show that you may have to struggle and sacrifice now to enjoy and get what you want in life.”
In 2014, the twins agreed to go to college to earn the funds necessary to take care of their family and pursue music. Four months after graduation, their song “Getaway” hit 195,000 views on YouTube. “We meant what we said and were going to accomplish it,” said Kino.
This year, the KENRON twins are looking to drop two albums and reach at least one million streams on YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Music. They also consider features with artists who inspired them on the local rap scene, such as Young Moose, YG, President Davo, and others.
To date, the twins have released two albums and five singles. They dropped their first album, ‘The Warm Up‘ in 2018, and three years later, in 2020, the most recent one, ‘The Hole.’ Music videos on their YouTube channel are rapidly gaining views, and the hit single “Getaway” has had a stellar run on TikTok. The twins are strongly motivated by fan recognition. “When we hear a fan say, ‘we love your music!’ it means everything to us. That’s one the reasons we’re in this business,” the artists said.
“Our life philosophy, the message we convey to our fans, is “Grind now, shine later.” All our life, we’ve been grinding, dreaming that we’ll someday be able to shine. For now, we’ll keep on grinding – the shine comes later.”
