glvsshouse drops country-tinged track “Games”
glvsshouse’s new track “Games” is a lovelorn cut that infuses rap, pop and r&b for a nostalgic, morning-after-feel. Since records like Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” and Young Thug’s album “Beautiful Thugger Girls“, country-influenced tracks have made their way into the all three of these genres in a way we haven’t seen before.
“Games” sees the Massachusetts native utilize a minimal guitar melody to flex his vocal chops with several inflections. glvsshouse begins the track with a more mellow flow that sets the scene for the singer’s realization that he’s just been played by a girl he’s been seeing. This theme is highlighted with lines like “in the morning call an Uber for you, once you left you act like I ain’t know ya, what the f*ck is this game you play”.
After delivering the second chorus, glvsshouse puts his vocal abilities on display with a strained, emo-rap inspired rendition of the chorus. This versatility has caught the eye of many including the one and only Pharrell Williams who featured glvsshouse on his collaborative project with iamOTHER and Soundcloud, titled iamOTHER, Vol 1.
“I had no idea it would grab f*****g Pharrell’s attention and be one of my biggest songs to date. Having the Pharrell cosign really gave me full confidence in my music, it’s kind of like I was sure all along but having that man tell me my song is good just made it a fact,” glvsshouse said in a statement.
