GB Dun Impresses With His “DunDada” Project
Hailing out of the DMV area, GB Dun is determined to be up next. After releasing new visuals for a few months on YouTube, the rapper just dropped off his new project “DunDada.” With a total of 16-tracks, the project comes with features from GB Scoop, GB 93, Dulli, and Trizzllbangin. Even without any “big” features, it was no worries as Dun held his own throughout the project.
The project starts off as a hard-hitting trap effort with its intro. On the song GB Dun lets listeners know that he’s really living the life that he raps about while also calling out the copy cats and frauds. He also lets listeners know that he’s main focus is on chasing a check. This intro perfectly sets the mood for the project, as this is the subject matter for most of it.
However, GB Dun didn’t box himself in on this project as we often see artists do. He tried different sounds and melodies, showing his willingness to experiment. After starting it off with a few hard-hitting cuts, he switched the tempo up on the Trizzllbangin featured “In My Own Lane.” On the song Dun comes in with a singing like voice, harmonizing with the song’s instrumental while Trizzllbangin lays down a solid feature that perfectly complements the song.
There were few songs that stood out on the project including “Fake Opps,” which serves as track number two on the DunDada. The ShawnThaDawn produced single has a piano led instrumental, which gives a nostalgic feeling to T.I.’s hit single “24’s.” On the song Dun, flows effortlessly while sending warnings to his opps and questioning how he’s going to beef with them.
Another standout song was the project’s title track “DunDada.” On the song, Dun reminds listeners of his ability to move like a boss, while also telling stories of his own life.
Overall, DunDada was a solid piece of work from the rapper, and lays down a good foundation for his career. As he moves forward, keep an eye out for the rapper as he expects to be at the top of the DMV area soon.
