Dzh shines on new release, ‘RANTS’
New Jersey’s Dzh returns to our platform with a fresh release called RANTS. The two-song offering shimmers with an emotive urgency and intensity, while providing a platform for Dzh to showcase his versatility and lyrical ability. The East Coast rapper-producer has been making a name for himself of late with a prolific streak of tracks that explored various sounds and styles, and RANTS continues this as it brings in elements of rage, lyrical hip-hop, and trap. He sounds hungry and focused on the mic, with a lazer sharp delivery that has characterized much of his recent work, while also progressing into new territory and yet keeping things authentic throughout.
“You & Tha Raps” opens the project with a smooth boom-bap beat that finds Dzh delivering thoughtful and poignant verses, capturing his penchant for vivid lyricism. Then, “Tha Most” takes the energy up a notch with a powerful rage beat and catchy auto-tuned vocals. The two songs make for an interesting contrast that showcases two sides of the artist in a way that keeps the listener entertained throughout.
