AVX shines on fresh new project, ‘Highs & Lows’

New Jersey artist AVX caught our attention for his new album, Highs & Lows, a set of engaging, sleek songs that neatly combine influences from both lyrical hip-hop and melodious R&B sonics. The album is his second full-length after 2019’s In the Moment, and it provides a series of emotive tracks that feel cohesive throughout, drawing the listener in to the artist’s world with each offering.

Highs & Lows opens with the powerful, atmospheric “Manifest”, which captures AVX’s signature sound with its engaging blend of hip-hop and R&B stylings. One of our album favorites, “OMW”, follows next with expansive, ethereal strings winding in smooth patterns atop a crisp, grooving rhythm section. Elsewhere, AVX displays an innate knack for emotive lyricism, with vivid lines that draw the listener into his world. Songs like “DEMONS” and “DEEP END” capture this succinctly with their poignant sonics and heartfelt, personal verses.

Overall, Highs & Lows is a strong new project from AVX that contains a number of bright moments that captivated us right off the bat.
